Maya Addai

The BCA presented the 2020 Paul Van Steen Award to Maya Addai. Maya has played rugby for the past five years, including three years with the Carleton University Raven’s Varsity Women’s Rugby Team. She represented Canada at the U20 level in 2019 and 2020. Maya was recognized as the 2019 Ottawa Rugby Player of the Year and as a 1st Team All-Star in the RSEQ for two seasons. As a team leader, she is a great mentor to younger players and helps coach new players. She also leads community outreach projects teaching rugby to elementary school students and children with special needs. Maya also plays soccer with the OSU competitive team where she was selected as MVP in 2017.
