Frequently Asked Questions
Like all Community Associations across the country, the BCA is a non-governmental, volunteer-run organization representing residents in a specific neighborhood in order to improve the quality of life for all residents. We aim to increase stewardship of the community, to foster a sense of spirit, pride and participation in Bridlewood through organizing events and activities. We work with the members of the community and municipal, provincial and federal organizations (governmental and non-governmental) to understand and assist with issues that impact our community.
We represent the Bridlewood neighbourhoods of Bridlewood, Emerald Meadows, and Monahan Landing.
Anyone living in Bridlewood can buy a family membership to become a full voting member of the BCA. Family memberships are $15/year and Senior memberships are $10. Non-resident memberships are also available but these members are not permitted to vote at meetings or to stand for, or elect members to our Board. Every membership comes with a coupon book filled with discounts at area merchants!

We run our food drive for the Kanata Food Cupboard in April and offer Halloween and Christmas decoration contests as well as a Valentine’s Day contest. We submit a float in the Kanata Christmas Parade and offer a Pizza Night at Gabriel’s in December. We try to offer information about issues that residents have expressed an interest in such as our session on cybercrime and another regarding community policing.
We also respond to requests from the community regarding installing crosswalks, upgrading paths, installing fun activities (game boards). We assist with items needing a response from the City of Ottawa such as park maintenance, tree canopy, public garbage cans, etc.
