Bridlewood Ice Rinks

Did you know that the BCA manages the most rinks in Ottawa? We have 12 rinks – both puddle and boarded - in nine parks throughout Bridlewood, Emerald Meadows, and Monahan Landing.

From December to February, you can usually find the rinks in the parks of: Laura Dubois, Sawyer Way, Brian Parsons, Meadowbreeze, Stonemeadow, Huntsman, Bluegrass, Scissions, and Mattawa.

The BCA signs a contribution agreement with the City of Ottawa to build and manage the rinks. The city sends out a “call for ice” and our volunteers respond by beginning to build the ice rinks. The BCA is required to build and maintain the rinks to standards set out by the city and we must ensure that these standards are reached to ensure we receive our contribution payments for our efforts.

Our rinks need volunteers!

Each rink takes a minimum of 175 hours to build and maintain for the approximate 2 months the rinks are open – and it takes a dedicated group of volunteers to make it happen.

The rinks need awesome and able volunteers of all ages to prepare the ice, flood the rinks, and make sure everything is safe for our skaters. If you love the outdoors, skating, and most ice-sports, please consider helping out this year. You can email your interest at pres@bridlewood.ca if you would like to get involved.
