Gabrielle Gareau

Gaby was born and raised in Bridlewood. Gaby has excelled in many sports at the highest possible level. She played AA hockey most of her life, was recruited to play in the PWHL (Women’s Junior Provincial hockey league) for the Central York Panthers and was then committed to play U Sports hockey for the Toronto Metropolitan University (Formerly Ryerson University) which she will begin this year. Gaby has made it to the Ottawa regional AA hockey championship game 10 times in her career and has won it 8 times, as well as being in the top two scorers on the team for those 10 years. Gaby also won an international hockey tournament when she represented East Coast selects in Bolzano Italy where they played the top teams from Sweden, Finland, Russia, Italy, and North America. However, hockey isn’t the only sport that she excels at. Gaby is also a high-level wrestler and was the 2020 Ontario Winter Games wrestling champion. If that wasn’t enough, Gaby is also a rep softball player who played on the regional U23 team as an 18-year-old. On top of being a high-level athlete, Gaby has always given back to the community. The last three years she has helped run hockey camps for younger kids at Carleton University, the Sensplex and the Central York Panthers hockey camps. She also helped in the She Shoots, She Scores initiative. In softball, Gaby gave back to the association by starting to umpire at the age of 12 and still does it to this day. In wrestling Gaby has helped coached the younger gr. 7-8 wrestlers when she was in high school. Academically, Gaby is at the top of her class. Graduating with honors and the only Health & Science Schism recipient at her school. She finished with a 93% average and also graduated with 3 extra course credits. Gaby is currently studying nursing at TMU.
